Founded by Joseph Martin, a former U.S. Army Combat Medic and Battlefield-Commission recipient, Tree MD brings military precision, integrity, and a service-first attitude to every project. After his military career, Joe served as the Director of Emergency Medical Services in Lee County, Alabama, and trained with staff at Auburn University before returning to his family’s deep roots in forestry and arboriculture.

Tree care runs in the Martin family bloodline. Joe’s grandfather, Ival Martin, was a logger and sawmill owner in Ohio who raised 17 children working in the forestry trade. Today, over 40% of the Martin family continues to work in forestry and arboriculture, carrying on a proud tradition. Joe grew up in the hills of West Virginia, gaining a grassroots respect for the land that inspires our work to this day.
